The moment you tap Start, umegle looks at everyone who is online and free right now and connects you to one of them. There is no profile to build first and no queue to sit in — matching happens in about a second, so the conversation starts before you have time to overthink it.

One-on-one, never a lobby

Every match is a private room with exactly two people in it: you and one stranger. Nobody else can drop in, and there is no audience. That is what makes a random video chat feel like a real conversation instead of a broadcast — it is just the two of you until one of you leaves.

Camera, mic, or just words

umegle is built for face-to-face video, but you stay in charge of what you share. Turn your camera on for a full video chat, keep it off and talk by voice, or type if that is more your speed. You can change your mind mid-room — nothing is locked in.

Not clicking with the person in front of you? One tap on Skip closes the room and umegle finds someone new — instantly. There is no cooldown and no limit, so you can keep meeting people until a conversation actually lands.

Moderation, quietly in the background

You are never stuck. Report, block and mute sit right on the room screen, and moderation runs around the clock behind the scenes. Anything out of line ends the session, not your evening — so the fun part stays the focus.

Do I get paired with one person or a group?

Always one person. Every umegle match is a private 1-on-1 room — there is no group lobby and no audience watching.

What happens when I skip?

The current room closes and umegle immediately looks for a new person to pair you with. There is no penalty and no waiting queue.

Can I use umegle without a camera?

Yes. You can keep your camera off and talk by voice or text. You choose what to share in each room.
